Southern Tabbed HCAC Pitcher of the Week

Anderson University baseball standout Landen Southern has been tabbed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.

Southern tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out 14 batters as Anderson (8-5) handed Ramapo College (7-5) a 10-0 loss in eight innings on Wednesday, March 15 in Davenport, Fla. The sophomore right hander from Lafayette became the first Raven since 2018 graduate John Becker to record 14 strikeouts in a game. Southern issued five walks and allowed just two hits during the start.

Anderson hosts Alma College (4-10-1) in a doubleheader on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Don Brandon Field.
