Rouse Named Director of Strength & Conditioning / Offensive Line Coach

Rouse served as a strength and conditioning intern for the University of Alabama during the summer of 2019 and following the 2019 season. In that time, Rouse co-facilitated football strength, speed and conditioning workouts. He assisted with implementation of NFL Combine preparation, which followed by nine players getting selected during the 2020 NFL Draft, including four in the first round. The Crimson Tide also captured the 2020 Citrus Bowl and secured No. 8 in the final BCS national poll.
During the 2019 season, Rouse was the special teams coordinator and defensive line coach at Lawrence Technological University.
Previously, Rouse spent five years as the defensive line coach and football strength and conditioning coordinator at Valparaiso University. Rouse developed, implemented and supervised the strength, speed and agility programs for the football team. The Crusaders received four all-conference selections on the defensive line during Rouse's tenure. Valparaiso tied for third in the Pioneer League in 2017.
Rouse spent the 2014 summer as a strength and conditioning intern at Eastern Michigan University. He began three years as offensive line coach and strength and conditioning coach for Concordia University in Michigan in 2011. Concordia's offensive line closed out the 2012 season tied for No. 8 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for fewest sacks allowed per game.
Rouse filled the role of strength and condition intern with the University of Michigan in 2010 and with Wayne State University in 2009. He spent five years as the defensive line coach and head strength and conditioning coach with Birmingham Groves High School in Beverly Hills, Mich., beginning in 2006. Rouse coached a player with Birmingham Groves who reached the NFL.
In 2005, Rouse served as the linebackers coach with Oxford High School in Oxford, Mich. He mentored a future NFL player and Maxwell Award Semi-Finalist during that time.
Rouse is certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the United States Weightlifting (USAW) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). He played as offensive tackle with Wayne State University.
Rouse graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with Oakland University and earned a Michigan Secondary Education degree with Madonna University.
