The alumni and friends of the AU Soccer Program raised $121,010.67 in the last eight weeks of the year to end 2019 with a bang.
On Nov. 1 a group of AU Soccer Alumni agreed to finish the year with a dollar-for-dollar match in efforts to finish the 2019 year completing Stage 1. This worked as the short campaign brought in over $66,000 for the alumni group to match.
At the end of 2017, the campaign was started to upgrade the soccer stadium where the men and women currently play.
"We are so excited to be able to get Stage 1 completed," Head Men's Soccer Coach Scott Fridley said. "I cannot say 'Thank You' enough to all of our alumni and friends of the program that have made this possible. They have really stepped up to make sure we can stay on target to get the soccer stadium updated and a place everyone can be proud of."
The AU Soccer programs will be conducting the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Stage 1 on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. during Homecoming Weekend.
