Three Ravens Earn All-HCAC Recognition

Anderson University men's tennis standouts Chakib Madcur, Sarvar Muzaffarov and Cory Evans each earned all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors, which was announced by the conference on Thursday.

Madcur and Muzaffarov garnered first-team all-conference recognition while Evans received all-HCAC Honorable Mention.

Chakib Madcur (Fr.; San Juan, Argentina/Colegio Modelo)

• Career All-Conference Honors: First Team (2023)
• HCAC Athlete of the Week
• HCAC Singles Record: 3-3 (2-3 at No. 1, 0-1 at No.)
• HCAC Doubles Record: 3-3 (3-3 at No. 1)
• Overall Singles Record: 6-4 (5-3 at No. 1, 1-1 at No. 2)
• Overall Doubles Record: 7-4 (7-4 at No. 1)
• Coach Matt Moore's Comments: We are so proud of Chakib's accomplishments at No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles. He's been a wonderful addition to our program and has an infectious work ethic. We are excited to see him continue in his growth with AU.

Sarvar Muzaffarov (Fr.; Tashkent, Uzbekistan/Colegio Modelo)

• Career All-Conference Honors: First Team (2023)
• HCAC Singles Record: 2-4 (1-0 at No. 1, 1-4 at No. 2)
• HCAC Doubles Record: 1-3 (1-0 at No. 1, 0-3 at No. 3)
• Overall Singles Record: 6-5 (2-1 at No. 1, 4-4 at No. 2)
• Overall Doubles Record: 3-4 (1-1 at No. 1, 2-0 at No. 2, 0-3 at No. 3)
• Coach Matt Moore's Comments: We marvel at all Sarvar brings to our program. From his consistency, pattern execution and ability to start college in a new country. He is a really special player and will only get better as a member of the team.

Cory Evans (Sr.; Middletown, Ind./Shenandoah)

• Three-time HCAC Athlete-of-the-Week Selection for Career
• HCAC Doubles Record: 3-2 (3-2 at No. 2)
• HCAC Singles Record: 3-3 (2-0 at No. 3, 0-3 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 5)
• Overall Singles Record: 9-7 (2-0 at No. 1, 2-2 at No. 2, 4-1 at No. 3, 0-4 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 5)
• Overall Doubles Record: 14-4 (2-0 at Tournaments, 5-0 at No. 1, 7-3 at No. 2, 0-1 at No. 3)
• HCAC Rankings: 2nd in Doubles Wins (14)
• Tied is own school record for single-season doubles wins with 14
• School Career Rankings: 34 Doubles Wins (Tied for 1st), 66 Overall Wins (2nd), 32 Singles Wins (3rd)
• Coach Matt Moore's Comments: Cory is the rock of our program. His commitment to the team and desire to make all of us our best is priceless. He is a great team captain and a fierce competitor. He is the Jimmy Butler of AU Tennis.
