RAVEN COMMENTS
Ian Leatherman – All things considered, [Saturday] went well. It wasn't quite where I wanted to be or where I felt I should have been, but, considering it was my second race day since February 2020, I'll take what I can get. I'm hoping to make some adjustments to be ready to perform well at conference in a few weeks. I also liked what I saw from both teams and think we are moving in the right direction as we near the conference meet.
Coach Sol Stephens – We got off to a decent start with the good weather. Jair Adams had two good reps down the long jump runway. Then the weather hit...after the delay, we refocused and competed fantastically. Caleb Carrao PRed in the 400. Ian Leatherman just missed his 5K PR. [Saturday] was a great experience in adversity and perseverance. Never knowing what Mother Nature may bring us conference weekend, we handled this poor weather test run superbly. We're going back to the drawing board on some things to be ready for action with a singular focus for the conference meet.
