Five Ravens Earn NFCA Scholar Athlete Recognition

Five Anderson University softball players earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athlete recognition, which was announced by the NFCA on Wednesday. Anderson also received the NFCA Team Academic Award.
Hadley Decker (New Haven, Ind./New Haven), Joslyn Leverett (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood), Tara Morey (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine), Blakelee Steeb (Eminence, Ind./Lutheran) and Melissa Wilson (Mishawaka, Ind./Penn) were each named NFCA Scholar Athletes for achieving at least a 3.50 GPA for the 2018-19 season. Anderson also put together a team GPA of 3.213, breaking the minimum GPA of 3.00 necessary to collect the NFCA Team Academic Award.
Missouri Baptist University led the nation with a 3.790 team GPA. Greenville University and Johnson & Wales University tied for the NCAA Division III lead with team GPAs of 3.780.
