Closser Named HCAC Hitter of the Week

Closser went 10-for-19 on the week with six doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBIs and two stolen bases. She recorded extra base hits on eight of her 20 plate appearances. On the week, Closser posted a .526 batting average, a .550 on-base percentage and an 1.105 slugging percentage.
The Ravens (3-11, 2-2) finished 2-4 on the week with a 1-1 record in HCAC play. Anderson split with Franklin College (8-6) in non-conference action on Wednesday. The Grizzlies secured Game 1 with a 5-3 win while the Ravens earned a 9-6 victory in Game 2. Wittenberg University (12-4-1) swept Anderson by scores of 4-0 and 7-5 on Friday. Anderson then locked up a split with Mount St. Joseph University (13-8, 2-2). The Ravens powered to a 9-1 victory in six innings during Game 1. Mount St. Joseph secured a 5-2 win in Game 2.
Closser went 2-for-4 with a double in Game 1 against Franklin. During Game 2, Closser put together a 4-for-4 performance at the plate with two doubles, a homer, three RBIs and two runs. Closser went 0-for-3 against Wittenberg in Game 1. During Game 2, Closser finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs. Closser went 1-for-2 with a double in Game 1 against Mount St. Joseph. She finished 0-for-2 with a hit by pitch and a run in Game 2.
Anderson challenges Transylvania University (14-8, 4-2), which is ranked No. 18 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA Division III poll, in an HCAC doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Lexington, Ky.
