Hope College swept the Anderson University softball team during Friday's doubleheader at the Raven Softball Field.
The Flying Dutch (14-7) charged past the Ravens (2-10) with an 8-1 victory in Game 1. Hope then captured a 4-0 win in Game 2.
In the bottom of the third inning in Game 1, Brianna Fellers drew a walk. Maddie Tuttle advanced Fellers to second on a sacrifice bunt, but also reached on an error. Brook Reaves advanced Fellers and Tuttle on a sacrifice bunt. Hope Smith then laid down a sacrifice squeeze bunt, which Fellers scored on the play and Smith reached on a fielder's choice. After reaching on the fielder's choice, Smith then stole second.
In Game 2, Alexis Bertram was hit by a pitch. Molly Buck (1-5) was tagged with the loss in Game 1, while Kinzie Byrd (0-3) was charged with the loss in Game 2.
The Ravens take on Adrian College (14-4) in a doubleheader on Monday at 3 p.m. at the Raven Softball Field.
