Ravens Take Victory against Tigers
The Anderson University women's swimming and diving team took a 122-72 victory against Wittenberg University on Saturday in Springfield, Ohio. Anderson moved to 3-2 while Wittenberg dropped to 0-7. "This is the second meet of the semester for our women and they locked up their second consecutive win," Coach Tanner Barton said. "Once again it was a true team effort." Aubrey Davis (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) captured first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2 minutes, 27.81 seconds. "It was great to have Aubrey Davis (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) racing. This meet marks the first time she's been cleared to compete since Nov. 8. I look forward to seeing how she'll build off of this meet as we turn our attention toward the end of the season." Anderson put together a 400 medley relay of Tess Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington), Jess Pulaski, Tori Haessig (Sunman, Ind./Milan HS) and Lily Hunter (Westfield, Ind./Westfield), which claimed first (4:27.32). The Ravens also fielded a 200 freestyle relay of Tess Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington), Davis, Brooklyn Denouden and Hunter, which secured first (1:48.24). Pulaski finished first (2:32.23) in the 200 individual medley. The sophomore from Centerville, Ohio clocked a personal record in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:46.09. In the 1,000 freestyle, Claire Leibold (Dayton, Ohio/Archbishop Alter) locked up first (11:51.98) while Kaitlyn Hopp (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) placed second (11:57.47). Denouden earned first (2:10.53) in the 200 freestyle. Heather Krapfl (Orland, Ind./Lakeland) turned in a time of 2:47.13 in the 200 freestyle. Hunter raced to first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.20 seconds. Halle Strege (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) took first in the 1-meter diving with an 11-dive score of 206.70 points. Anderson hosts Bethel University (Ind.) (2-8) and Indiana Wesleyan University (2-2) for Senior Day on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bennett Natatorium. Indiana Wesleyan is ranked No. 5 in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) poll. "Next Saturday is our Senior Day.
