Anderson Powers Past Mount St. Joseph
The Anderson University volleyball team powered past Mount St. Joseph University with a 25-22, 25-11, 17-25, 27-25 victory during Friday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) victory in Cincinnati.

Jimena Montano (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) led the Ravens with 11 kills. Felicity Bontrager (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) and Emily Hale (Daleville, Ind./Wes-Del) each smashed 10 kills. Brooke Troyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) notched 27 digs while Taylor Lawson (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) scattered 18 digs. Kaycie Gates (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Hannah Rady (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) dished out 19 assists and 17 assists, respectively.

Olivia Rice (Walkerton, Ind./John Glenn) contributed seven kills and Lawson tallied six kills. Bontrager recorded four blocks and Rice produced three blocks. Rady delivered three service aces.

The Ravens (8-13, 2-3) put together a .140 hitting percentage and held the Lions (12-10, 1-4) to a .049 attack percentage.

Anderson is scheduled for two HCAC matches next week. The Ravens take on Defiance College (14-9, 2-3) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Anderson then hosts Earlham College (14-7, 2-2) in the Dig for the Cure on Saturday at 1 p.m. at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
