Eight Ravens Earn All-HCAC Recognition
Anderson University football players Jerry Addo-Boateng, Tristan Chambers, Jackson Elder, Julian Holguin, Connor Huffman, Collin McCaffrey, Caden McClain and Cayden Sotelo each received all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Honorable Mention, which was announced by the conference on Thursday.
Anderson University football players Jerry Addo-Boateng, Tristan Chambers, Jackson Elder, Julian Holguin, Connor Huffman, Collin McCaffrey, Caden McClain and Cayden Sotelo each received all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Honorable Mention, which was announced by the conference on Thursday.
"These young men persevered through a tough season, battling whatever hurdles came their way," Coach Jeremy Lochner said.
Jerry Addo-Boateng (Fr., Defensive Back, Sanford, Fla./Orangewood Central)
- First career all-conference selection
- Conference Only-Stats: 7.1 Tackles Per Game (T-5 in HCAC), 50 Tackles, 1 Interception TD, 4 Tackles for Loss, 1 Interception, 26 Interception Return Yards, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Blocked Kick
- Overall Stats: 7.1 Tackles Per Game (5th in HCAC), 50 Tackles, 1 Interception TD, 4 Tackles for Loss, 1 Interception, 26 Interception Return Yards, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Blocked Kick
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Jerry Addo-Boateng made a splash in camp but was sidelined by a freak accident until Week 4. His enjoyment for life running around the field like a wild man was infectious all year long. He made a huge impact both defensively and on coverage teams.
Tristan Chambers (Sr., Defensive Lineman, Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran)
- Fourth career all-conference selection: Also received all-HCAC Honorable Mention as a Freshman, Sophomore and Junior
- Conference-Only Stats – 10 Tackles, 2 Tackles for Loss, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Forced Fumble
- Overall Stats – 11 Tackles, 2 Tackles for Loss, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Forced Fumble
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Tristan Chambers once again led the way for the defense up front. He was a leader all year and much of the defensive line development was because of his leadership.
Jackson Elder (Fr., Offensive Lineman, Port St. Lucie, Fla./Centennial)
- First career all-conference selection
- Started all 10 games on offensive line
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Jackson Elder became a Swiss Army knife along the offensive line. He is always up to any task that is asked of him.
Julian Holguin (Jr., Wide Receiver, Richmond, Ind./Richmond/Indiana Wesleyan University)
- First career all-conference selection
- Conference-Only Stats: 5.3 Receptions Per Game (3rd in HCAC), 66.7 Receiving Yards Per Game (5th in HCAC), 37 Receptions, 467 Receiving Yards, 1 Reception TD, 81 Rushing Yards, 85 Kickoff Return Yards
- Overall Stats: 4.6 Receptions Per Game (3rd in HCAC), 60.1 Receiving Yards Per Game, 1 Reception TD, 46 Receptions, 601 Receiving yards, 80 Rushing Yards, 112 Kickoff Return Yards
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Julian Holguin came to us this year as a transfer and made an immediate impact. His leadership in a young wide receiver room was invaluable.
Connor Huffman (So., Defensive Lineman, Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights)
- First-career all-conference selection
- Conference-Only Stats: 3.3 Tackles Per Game, 23 Tackles, 4 Tackles for Loss, 1 Sack, 2 Quarterback Hurries, 1 Forced Fumble
- Overall Stats: 3.1 Tackles Per Game, 31 Tackles, 5 Tackles for Loss, 1 Sack, 3 Quarterback Hurries, 1 Forced Fumble
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Connor Huffman transformed himself this offseason into a force to be reckoned with. Even better than his physical growth was his growth as a teammate and leader.
Collin McCaffrey (Jr., Linebacker, Manchester, Mich./Manchester)
- Second career all-conference selection: Also received all-HCAC Honorable Mention in Fall 2021.
- Conference-Only Stats: 4.7 Tackles Per Game. 28 Tackles, 2.5 Tackles for Loss, 0.5 Sacks, 1 Interception, 23 Interception Return Yards, 2 Pass Breakups, 1 Quarterback Hurry
- Overall Stats: 4.3 Tackles Per Game, 39 Tackles, 5 Tackles for Loss, 1.5 Sacks, 1 Interception, 23 Interception Return Yards, 2 Pass Breakups, 2 Quarterback Hurries
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Collin McCaffrey has been and will continue to be the heart and soul of both the team and defense. He comes everyday ready to work and sacrifices himself daily for his teammates.
Caden McClain (So., Linebacker, Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights)
- Second career all-conference selection: Also received all-HCAC Honorable Mention in Fall 2021.
- Conference-Only Stats: 4.4 Tackles Per Game, 22 Tackles, 3.5 Tackles for Loss, 1 Pass Breakup, 1 Quarterback Hurry
- Overall Stats: 3.0 Tackles Per Game, 24 Tackles, 3.5 Tackles for Loss, 1 Pass Breakup, 1 Quarterback Hurry
- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Caden McClain once again proved to be a huge piece for the defense. An injury sidelined him, but did not slow his involvement in the team.
Cayden Sotelo (So., Defensive Back, Charlottesville, Ind./Eastern Hancock)
- First career all-conference selection

- Coach Jeremy Lochner's Comments: Cayden Sotelo was Mr. Consistent in the secondary for us this year. His work ethic is nothing short of amazing.
