Four-Seeded Ravens Drop HCLC Semifinal to Top-Seeded Pioneers
On Wednesday, the four-seeded Anderson University men’s lacrosse team traveled to Lexington, Ky., to take on the top-seeded Transylvania University Pioneers in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) semifinal matchup. The Pioneers (10-5) cruised to a 30-3 victory over the Ravens (3-12).

On Wednesday, the four-seeded Anderson University men's lacrosse team traveled to Lexington, Ky., to take on the top-seeded Transylvania University Pioneers in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) semifinal matchup. The Pioneers (10-5) cruised to a 30-3 victory over the Ravens (3-12).
Transylvania jumped out to a 4-1 lead by the end of the first quarter. Anderson's lone goal in the frame came from Connor Kistner at the 7:10 mark. The second quarter proved decisive, as the Pioneers exploded for 12 unanswered goals, stretching their lead to 16-1 at halftime.
Will Harriman was able to find the back of the net at 6:27 of the third quarter, which split up a five-goal and four-goal runs for the Pioneers in the quarter. The Pioneers tacked on five additional goals in the fourth before Lars Kiefer netted Anderson's final goal with 1:35 remaining.
Transylvania finished with 75 total shots, including 50 on goal, while Anderson managed 14 shots, with seven on target. The Pioneers controlled the ground balls 41-21 and narrowly won the faceoff battle, taking 19-of-37 (51.3 percent). Transylvania was perfect on clears (31-of-31), while Anderson completed 11-of-18 (61.1%).
Kistner, Harriman, and Kiefer each scored once for the Ravens. Trenton Rock won 18 faceoffs and picked up a game-high 10 ground balls. The Ravens' junior Goalkeeper Spencer Pruden recorded 20 saves throughout the night.
