The Anderson University men’s soccer team rolled past Beloit College by a score of 4-0 to secure the Raven/Quaker Classic title for the third year in a row. Anderson Volleyball topped Wisconsin Lutheran College in four sets before Anderson fell to Albion College in four sets. Men’s Tennis locked up a 6-1 victory against Adrian College while Women’s Tennis suffered a 5-2 loss to Adrian. Men’s Golf is tied for 12th place after Day 1 of the Transylvania Fall Invitational.

Men's Soccer Wins Third Consecutive Raven/Quaker Classic Title
Anderson Men's Soccer (1-1) captured the Raven/Quaker Classic title for the third year in a row. The Ravens downed Beloit College (1-1) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday at Fridley Field. Anderson also celebrated Parents Day on Saturday. All four tournament participants finished with a 1-1 record. As a result, Anderson won the tournament by holding a plus-two goal differential, the highest of the tournament.
Luke Weinman V racked up five points behind two goals and an assist. Andon Colclazier and Miles Tucker each netted goals while Ashton Kuss added an assist. Colclazier put each up his three shots on frame. Kuss and Weinman V both finished the day with three shots and two shots on goal. Jack Harris led the Ravens with three intercepts while Brendan Hall paced the Ravens with three steals. Braydon Kennedy saved each of three shots he faced. Dylan Stegemoller came in goal for the final 7 minutes, 39 seconds of the match and saved the only shot he faced. Weinman V was named the Offensive MVP of the tournament while Harris, Emmett Kindler and Tucker were also selected to the all-tournament team. Anderson hosts Wilmington College (0-0-1) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Fridley Field.
"I'm very proud of the boys after [Friday's] disappointing result," Coach Scott Fridley said. "We started quickly and were able to get control of the game enough to get a second goal and gain momentum. I thought we did a lot of good things on the weekend that we can build on."

Men's Tennis Rolls Past Adrian
Anderson Men's Tennis (1-0) rolled past Adrian College (1-1) by a score of 6-1 on Saturday at Anderson High School. The Ravens completed the sweep for the doubles point. Martin Suarez and Davis Borders took the No. 1 Doubles win, Ezekiel Bergen and Pedro Sette secured the win at No. 2 Doubles, and Santiago Terbonati and Ian Potts earned the win at No. 3 Doubles.
The Ravens claimed five of the six singles points. Bergen took the No. 1 Singles point, Suarez captured the No. 2 Singles point, Sette claimed the No. 3 Singles point, Potts secured the No. 4 Singles points and Terbonati recorded the win at No. 6 Singles. Anderson battles in the two-day DePauw Fall Invitational, beginning on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m. in Greencastle.

Volleyball Takes Second Place in Albion Tournament
The Anderson University volleyball team took second place in the two-day Albion Tournament, which concluded on Saturday in Albion, Mich. Anderson (2-1) battled past Wisconsin Lutheran College (1-2) by a score of 30-28, 25-13, 13-25, 25-23. Albion (3-0) then fought past the Ravens by a score of 25-16, 25-20, 26-24.
In Match 1, Wisconsin Lutheran recorded a .132 hitting percentage while Anderson finished with a .116 hitting percentage. Jayda Lanham led the Ravens with 12 kills, three service aces and 24 receptions. Blythe Young dished out 37 assists and delivered two service aces. Lacy Rathbun scattered a team-high 23 digs as well as 22 receptions. Taylor Bock recorded four blocks and two service aces.
In Match 2, Albion posted a .215 hitting percentage while Anderson was held to a .074 hitting percentage. Peyton Bundy led the Ravens with 12 digs. Rathbun tallied a team-high 22 receptions. Lanham smashed eight kills while Young provided 26 assists. Bock delivered three service aces while Lynlee Braun added two service aces. Anderson opens the Rose-Hulman Tournament with Knox College (0-4) on Friday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. in Terre Haute.

Men's Golf is Tied for 12th Place after Day 1 of Transylvania Fall Invitational
Men's Golf is tied for 12th place in a field of 19 teams after Day 1 of the two-day Transylvania Fall Invitational on Saturday in Lexington, Ky. Anderson currently holds a 36-hole team score of 610 (+34). John Mercer is tied for 18th place with a score of 147 to lead the Ravens. The sophomore from Indianapolis has carded rounds of 74 and 73 on the par-72 layout at the University Club of Kentucky. Anderson rounds out the tournament with 18 holes on Sunday.

Women's Tennis Falls to Adrian
Women's Tennis (0-1) fell to Adrian College (2-0) by a score of 5-2 on Saturday at Anderson High School. Anderson's two points came from a No. 3 Singles win by Gabby Hosier and a No. 4 Singles win by Paula Torrent. Abby Cunningham and Torrent won their match at No. 2 Doubles. Isabella Patterson and Hosier also earned an exhibition win at No. 4 Doubles. Anderson battles in the two-day DePauw Fall Invitational, beginning on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m. in Greencastle.
