Women's Golf Sits in Second after Day 1 of Randy Sadler Invitational
The Anderson University women's golf team sits in second place after Day 1 of the Randy Sadler Invitational on Saturday in Yorktown.
Anderson's 'A' Team recorded an 18-hole team score of 339 (+51). The Anderson 'B' Team is currently in sixth with an 18-hole team score of 406 (+118). Hannah Emenhiser and Abbie Burden are currently tied for seventh. The two players lead the Ravens with rounds on 82 on the par-72 layout at The Players Club at Woodland Trails.
Anderson rounds out the Randy Sadler Invitational on Sunday.

Men's Soccer Turns in Tie with Spalding behind Late Goal
The Anderson University men's soccer team (5-2-2) turned in a 1-1 tie with Spalding University (2-3-3) on Saturday in Louisville, Ky.
Trailing 1-0 with less than five minutes remaining, Wesley Lewis found the back of the net with a goal assisted by Marek Bollinger.
Anderson outshot Spalding 24-11 and held an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. Noah Neu was named The Raven's Raven after notching six steals and five intercepts to lead Anderson in both categories. Braydon Kennedy saved four of the five shots he faced. Lewis put each of his three shots on frame. Miles Tucker racked up seven shots, Ashton Kuss tallied five shots and Brendan Hall contributed three shots.
"We didn't put our best performance together, but we found a way to get a late goal and sort out the tie," Coach Scott Fridley said. "We had a lot of opportunities around the goal; we just couldn't get the right opportunity, but not from a lack of chances. I thought Noah Neu had a consistent game; he stayed busy and played well."
Anderson challenges Hope College (3-4-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Holland, Mich.

Volleyball Falls to Asbury
The Anderson University volleyball team (5-4) fell to Asbury University (3-6) by a score of 18-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19 on Saturday in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium. Asbury put together a .162 hitting percentage while Anderson finished with a .097 hitting percentage. Jayda Lanham tallied 17 digs, 10 kills, three blocks and two service aces. Blythe Young dished out 23 assists. Ellie Wilson and Taylor Bock recorded three blocks apiece. Bre Lawrence added two service aces. Anderson battles Kalamazoo College (7-7) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Kalamazoo Fights Past Football
Kalamazoo College fought past the Anderson University football team by a score of 27-0 on Saturday in Kalamazoo, Mich.
The Hornets (3-0) led the Ravens (1-2) by a score of 14-0 at halftime. Halftime was extended by a 1-hour, 46-minute lightning delay. The lightning came rolling with 4:43 left in the fourth quarter, in which the decision was made to call the game. Kalamazoo held a 300-162 advantage in total offense. The Hornets accumulated 30:57 of possession time while the Ravens totaled 24:23 of possession time.
Jake Simpson blocked an extra-point attempt and forced a fumble. The senior linebacker from Hobart led the Ravens with 13 tackles. Jaylen Hayes finished with a forced fumble, 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack and 10 tackles. The freshman defensive lineman from Louisville, Ky. tallied 11 tackle-for-loss yards and six sack yards. Kurtis Watkins posted two tackles for loss, one sack and 10 tackles. The freshman linebacker from Davie, Fla. Contributed 12 tackle-for-loss yards and nine sack yards.
Johnathen Hayworth-Dupree recorded two tackles for loss and one sack. Kevin Thomas provided one pass breakup, one sack and one tackle for loss. LeGermany Traywick finished with one tackle for loss and a half sack while DeMarco Cooley added a half sack. Alex Myers also broke up a pass. Carson Brookbank threw for 140 yards. Troy Humphreys tallied 60 receiving yards while Adam Dunson collected four receptions. Zachary Anderson posted an average of 39.4 yards per punt on seven punts.
Anderson opens the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) season with Mount St. Joseph University (1-2, 0-0) on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. in Cincinnati.

Spalding University (4-3-1) shut out the Anderson University women's soccer team (2-3-2) by a score of 2-0 on Saturday at Fridley Field. The Eagles outshot the Ravens 20-9 and held a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Adrienne Weyers saved eight (80 percent) of the 10 shots she faced. Emily Metzger put both of her shots on frame. Natalie Marcum tallied two shots and one shot on goal. Hannah Thompson and Cait Knepp registered shots on goal while Meghan Foster added two shots. The Anderson University women's cross country team finished 11th place in the John McNichols Invitational on Saturday at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. Hattie Harlow secured 75th with a 6K time of 26 minutes, 22.1 seconds to lead the Ravens. Madison Aaron turned in a 6K personal-record time of 31:23.4. Anderson returns to action in the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Louisville, Ky. at Tom Sawyer Park.

David Stansbury took 105th with an 8K time of 28 minutes, 50.1 seconds. Anderson battles in the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Louisville, Ky. at Tom Sawyer Park.
Men's Tennis Falls to Judson
The Anderson University men's tennis team (1-1) fell to Judson University (2-3) by a score of 5-2 on Saturday in Marion. Ezekiel Bergen won his No. 2 singles match while Pedro Sette won his No. 3 singles match. Anderson challenges Trine University (5-0) on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Anderson High School.
