Anderson Falls to Transylvania in HCLC Championship
The second-seeded Anderson University women’s lacrosse team (8-8) fell to top-seeded Transylvania University (8-9) by a score of 19-3 during Friday’s Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Tournament Championship in Lexington, Ky.

Lauren Brown provided a goal and an assist for the Ravens. Sarah Weist and Katte Escobar each added goals while Julia Jarrells tallied three draw controls. Kimber Weiss saved 11-of-30 (36.7 percent) shots for the Ravens.
"It was a tough loss to an outstanding Transylvania team," Coach Russell Mackey said. "They were dominant in the draw and that is usually key to victory as it was for them [on Friday]. The Lady Ravens were dominant and never gave up. They were true warriors to the end!"
Brown, Escobar, Avery Jarosinski and Alli Rastrelli were each named to the HCLC All-Tournament Team. Against Spalding, Brown filled the stat sheet with five ground balls, eight draw controls, three caused turnovers and two assists. Brown totaled seven ground balls, nine draw controls, three caused turnovers, one goal, three assists and four points during the tournament. Escobar contributed two goals and five ground balls against Spalding. She then added her third goal of the tournament against Transylvania. Jarosinski led the Ravens with four goals in Tuesday's win against Spalding before missing Friday's game due to injury. Rastrelli collected three ground balls against Spalding.
"Although Avery was injured in the semifinal game, she was critical in getting us to the championship game, so she was deserving of the all-tournament honor. Katte played very well three goals in tournament play and Lauren was dominant on the draws on Tuesday. Alli was simply solid on defense all tournament and was extremely helpful in transitioning the ball up field."
