Nine Ravens Earn All-HCAC Recognition
Nine Anderson University football players received all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognition, which was announced by the conference on Friday.

James Tucker (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) garnered first-team all-conference honors. Alex Barnett (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon), Tyson Harley (New Palestine, Ind./Mount Vernon), Alex Parra (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian), Juancarlos Ramirez (Marion, Ind./Marion) and Zac Tallent (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins) each earned second-team all-conference recognition. Tristan Chambers (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), Sam Feola Ridgeville, Ind./Monroe Central) and Reggie Lipscomb (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) each received all-conference honorable mention to round out Anderson's nine all-conference selections.
This is the first time Tucker has earned first-team all-conference honors. The junior wide receiver from Brookville was selected to the All-HCAC Second Team during his sophomore season. He was also selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week this season. Tucker notched 53 receptions, 617 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Among NCAA leaders, Tucker ranked second in receptions per game (10.6), 11th in receiving yards per game (123.4), T-15 in receiving touchdowns, 23rd in all-purpose yards per game (131.4) and T-42 in total touchdowns (4). Tucker topped the conference in receptions per game and receiving yards per game. He also tied for fourth in the HCAC in receiving touchdowns and ranked fifth in the conference in all-purpose yards per game. Tucker was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week during the season. As returner, Tucker tallied 109 kick return yards on nine kick returns for a 12.1-yard average.
"James is a tremendous athlete who catches everything within arm's reach and then some," Coach Steve Rock said. "James receiving a first-team all-conference selection is no surprise."
Harley received second-team all-conference honors for the second time. He was also tabbed the HCAC Freshman of the Year last season. The sophomore quarterback from New Palestine earned an HCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week selection. Harley threw for 1,497 yards and 12 touchdowns. He completed 158-of-231 passes for a .684 completion percentage. On the ground, Harley has rushed for 36 yards and three touchdowns.
Among NCAA leaders, Harley ranked first in completions per game (39.5), third in passing yards per game (374.2), third in total offense per game (383.2), fifth in completion percentage, T-5 in passing touchdowns, eighth in points responsible for per game (23), 36th in pass efficiency (131.3) and T-41 in rushing touchdowns. Harley led the conference in completions per game, passing yards per game, total offense per game, passing touchdowns and completion percentage. Among HCAC leaders, Harley ranked second in points responsible for per game and third in passing efficiency.

Barnett garnered all-conference honors for the fourth time in his career. The senior kick returner/receiver from McCordsville also earned second-team all-conference recognition as a sophomore. Barnett received all-HCAC honorable mention as a freshman and junior. He received the HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week after taking a kickoff return 94 yards to the house against Mount St. Joseph University. He is one of seven players in the nation to record a kickoff return touchdown this season.
Barnett provided 347 kickoff return yards on 14 kickoffs for an average of 24.8 yards per return. He also turned in 54 punt return yards on five punt returns for an average of 10.8 yards per return. As a receiver, Barnett tallied 25 receptions, 261 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Barnett ranked 40th in the nation in all-purpose yards per game (131.4). Among HCAC leaders, Barnett ranked second in yards per kick return, fifth in receptions per game (5.0), fifth in yards per punt return, seventh in all-purpose yards per game and 10th in receiving yards per game (52.2).
"Alex was a solid performer on special teams and offense this spring. We are hopeful Alex can return this fall."
Tallent secured all-conference honors for the third time in his career. The junior wide receiver from Lakeland, Fla. garnered first-team all-HCAC honors as a sophomore and all-HCAC honorable mention as a freshman. Tallent was also named to the D3football.com Team of the Week this season. He contributed 25 receptions, 337 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Tallent ranked T-15 in the nation in receiving touchdowns and T-42 in the nation in total touchdowns (4). Among HCAC leaders, Tallent ranked T-4 in receiving touchdowns, T-5 in receptions per game (5.0) and sixth in receiving yards per game (67.4).
"Zac turned in positive numbers again and is continuing to develop as an offensive leader."
Parra captured second-team all-conference honors for the second time in his career. The junior offensive lineman from Indianapolis also received second-team all-HCAC recognition as a sophomore. Parra started all five games on an offensive line that held opponents to 2.8 sacks per game, which ranked fifth in the HCAC.
"Alex is a consistent performer on offense at the center spot of our offensive line and plays with a lot of heart."
Ramirez claimed second-team all-HCAC honors in his debut season. The linebacker from Marion recorded 7.2 tackles per game, which ranked sixth in the conference. Ramirez recorded 36 tackles, one sack, two tackles for losses, one interception and one pass breakup.
"Juancarlos was a real force on both defense and special teams leading our team in tackles. Big things coming in the future from Juancarlos."
Lipscomb earned all-HCAC honorable mention for the third time in his career. He rushed for 373 yards and seven touchdowns. Lipscomb put together an average of 3.81 yards per carry on 98 carries. As a receiver, Lipscomb notched 42 receptions, 274 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Lipscomb closed out the season with 667 all-purpose yards and 10 total touchdowns.
Among NCAA leaders, Lipscomb ranked third in receptions per game (10.5), T-3 in total touchdowns, T-3 in scoring per game (15.0), T-4 in rushing touchdowns, 10th in all-purpose yards per game (161.75), 28th in rushing yards per game (93.2), T-30 in points responsible for per game (15.0) and T-32 in receiving touchdowns. In the HCAC, Lipscomb ranked second in receptions per game, second in all-purpose yards per game, second in scoring per game, third in rushing touchdowns, third in total touchdowns, third in points responsible for per game, fifth in receiving yards per game (68.5), sixth in rushing yards per game, T-7 in receiving touchdowns and eighth in yards per carry.
"Reggie is in a unique situation as a running back who is asked to help in the pass game. Reggie puts up solid numbers as a running back and even better numbers catching the ball out of the backfield."
Chambers earned all-conference honorable mention for the second year in a row. The sophomore defensive lineman from Fort Wayne recorded 13 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for losses and a pass breakup. Chambers averaged 2.6 tackles per game.
"Tristan is a consistent solid performer on our defensive line. What he lacks in defensive stats is mostly due to the fact that the opposing team must game plan around him."
Feola received all-conference honorable mention in his debut season. The freshman defensive back from Ridgeville recorded 6.8 tackles per game, which ranked ninth in the conference. Feola produced 34 tackles, two pass breakups a forced fumble and 1.5 tackles for losses.
