Ravens Suffer Loss in HCAC Opener

The Fightin' Engineers (2-2, 1-0) held a 491-194 advantage against the Ravens (0-4, 0-1) in total offense.
Jafet Cuenca converted a 25-yard field goal for the Ravens. Johnell Wortham totaled 131 all-purpose yards with 78 yards rushing and 53 yards receiving. Julian Holguin hauled in five receptions and recovered a fumble.
Jacob Simpson forced a fumble while LaQua Roar blocked a kick. Rickey Bell led the Ravens with 11 tackles while Connor Huffman produced 10 tackles and a tackle for a loss. Elijah Williams broke up two passes. Ebon Person and Gus Walling tallied eight tackles and six tackles, respectively. Ricardo Polk turned in a tackle for loss.
"I'm proud of how our team continues to play hard," Coach Jonathan Coddington said. "We did some good things in all three phases of the game, but we have a lot we need to continue to improve on. We are looking forward to being back at home next Saturday and showing that we are continuing to develop as a team by focusing on what it takes to be successful."
The Ravens face off with Franklin College (1-3, 1-0) in HCAC action for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Macholtz Stadium.
