Kropf, Hayward Sweep HCAC Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards
Anderson University men’s swimming and diving standouts Evan Kropf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and Matthew Hayward (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) swept the conference weekly awards as they were named the HCAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.
Anderson University men's swimming and diving standouts Evan Kropf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and Matthew Hayward (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) swept the conference weekly awards as they were named the HCAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday.
The Ravens (1-1) fell to Bethel University (Ind.) (3-3) last Saturday. Bethel is ranked No. 10 in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) poll.
Hayward claimed first place in 1-meter diving after establishing an 11-dive school record score of 477.00 points. The freshman from Fort Wayne posted an average of 43.36 points per dive.
Kropf locked up two individual wins and contributed to two relay wins. He captured first in the 100-yard freestyle with a personal-record time of 48.41 seconds. The junior from Fort Wayne secured first in the 50 freestyle with a personal-record time of 21.86 seconds.
For the relays, Bryce Holt (Osceola, Ind./Penn), Josh Ekberg (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour), Noah Scheffer (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford) and Kropf raced to first with a time of 3 minutes, 39.16 seconds in the 400 medley relay. Kris Keller (Fishers, Ind./Northridge), Ekberg, Scheffer and Kropf also took first in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:20.89.
Anderson hosts Manchester University (0-2) on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bennett Natatorium.
