Bradley Rothaar – Greenwood, Ind. – Greenwood HS
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Career Bio: Bradley is the lone senior for the Anderson men's tennis team. He has primarily fielded the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles slot the past two seasons. Bradley earned All-HCAC Honorable Mention as a freshman and a junior. He was also an HCAC Christopher M. Ragsdale Sportsmanship Award recipient as a junior. Bradley has compiled 13 doubles wins and four singles wins in his career. He finished with a 9-5 doubles record in his freshman season.
Favorite Memory: "One of my favorite memories was our team trip to St. Louis," Bradley said. "We had two matches and then visited the St. Louis arch."
Plans After Graduation: "After graduation, I plan to get a job as a mechanical engineer and begin preparation for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam."
"Bradley experienced incessant change with tennis at Anderson University," Coach Bryant Beard said. "He lost his sophomore season due to institution changes and he lost his senior season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, his dedication and work ethic remained constant, throughout."
"My favorite memory of coaching Bradley, was as a freshman, he came in with a pretty big serve," Coach Beard added. "It was the one area of his game he felt pretty confident. I looked at him one day and told him, it's not big enough, and we are going to make changes. The look he gave me was one that I would continue to receive throughout his four years; a look that said 'I'm not sure I agree' but after a pause would say, 'ok, I'll try it.' His openness to change and commitment to improvement is why he will always be a leader. When there is change, unwanted and wanted, Bradley takes it head on."
