Anderson Advances to HCAC Tournament Final
The top-seeded Anderson University women's tennis earned a 5-2 victory against the fourth-seeded Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament semifinal at Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Ky.

Anderson (14-1) started with a 3-0 lead against Rose-Hulman (8-5) after sweeping doubles. Katrina Berban (Seguin, Texas/New Braunfels)/Jasmine Blair (Clearwater, Fla./Homeschool/Largo) (12-2) edged Naomi Bhagat/Fanny-Jane Banda (1-1) with an 8-7 (7-4) victory at No. 1 doubles. Allison Newman (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood)/Claire Miller (Indianapolis, Ind./Homeschool) (9-5) earned an 8-5 win against Kyla Jarvis/Anna Thompson (1-1) at No. 2 doubles while Jordyn Roper (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic)/Jenna Kuntz (Edinburgh, Ind./Southwestern) (3-1) fought to an 8-6 victory against Krista Manche/Emma Goodman (2-3) at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Kuntz (4-1) locked up a 6-4, 6-3 win against Goodman (4-4) at No. 6 singles and Roper (13-0) rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Manche (5-5) at No. 5 singles.

For the Fightin' Engineers, Banda (13-1) put together a 6-1, 6-0 win against Blair (11-3) and Thompson (8-2) claimed a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Newman (7-7).

The Ravens clinched their fifth point before Berban's and Miller's singles matches were finished.

Anderson is scheduled for a rematch with third-seeded Transylvania University (8-3) in the HCAC Tournament final on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Ravens rattled off three straight points to secure a 5-4 victory and the HCAC regular-season title in Nicholasville last Saturday.

Porsche Robinson holds a 10-3 record as Transylvania's No. 1 singles player. Shelia Cetina competes at No. 2 singles and holds a 7-2 record. Jessica Burton has compiled an 11-2 record while playing primarily at No. 3 singles. Rounding out Transylvania's top six includes Merrick Irwin (6-5), Alyssa Igyarto (6-5) and Christina Duvall (8-4).
