Bio

Sol Stephens enters his third year of coaching the cross-country and track and field teams at Anderson University.
 
Stephens came to AU after spending four years as an assistant track and field coach at Marian University in Indianapolis.
 
A graduate of Indiana University, Stephens led high school track programs at Michigan City, Lawrence North and Warren Central before joining the staff at MU.
 
While at Marian, he helped coach multiple All-Americans and national qualifiers. He tutored state champions at Lawrence North and Warren Central. He has been either a high school or college coach since 2003.
 
In his first two seasons at AU, Coach Stephens mentored long jumper Garrett Cooley to All-American Honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships in both 2017 and 2018, as well as, the Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in 2018. Along with Cooley's accomplishments, Toluwani Adebakin, under Stephens' tutelage, earned All-American honors in the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 200 Meter Dash.
