COACH DIJON KNIGHT'S COMMENTS
I'm really glad that as a program we were able to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to compete in this year's Region V Showcase at the well-renowned Warren Golf Course at the University of Notre Dame. The course played tough and the competition was stiff with 15 schools from throughout the region competing. We were able to play with some programs that we normally don't get to and see where we measure up from a regional perspective. I'm pleased with our team's overall progress made from the Spring season to where we are now. As a team this week, we showed some consistency in our scoring from Round 1 to Round 2, only scoring two strokes higher on Day 2, allowing us to hold our position in the standings following Round 1. Individually, Luke LeBourdais and Maverik Mollenkopf led the way this tournament. Maverik is playing the best golf of his career right now and has made big strides in his game, which he displayed this weekend and throughout this fall season. Though we can recognize and celebrate the small victories we have that occur, we won't necessarily be satisfied until we are in a better position to accomplish our goals. I'm excited to see the growth and improvements in our individual games when we reconvene in the Spring.
