December 2, 2019
Anderson University women's soccer standout Bailey Dornbusch (Troy, Ohio/Troy) was selected to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, which was announced by the USC on Monday. Dornbusch became the first player in program history to earn all-region honors.
"It's truly an honor for Bailey and the team to be recognized by the region and reflects the growth and steps forward this program has taken," Coach Jennifer Myhre said.
Dornbusch also received first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognition. The senior from Troy, Ohio started on a defensive line, which recorded a 0.607 goals against average. Anderson's goals against average leads the conference and ranks 31st in the nation. The Ravens also tied the school record with eight shutouts on the season. Anderson ranks second in the conference in shutout percentage (0.471).
In addition to having the first player in school history to be named to an all-region team, Anderson also established its first-ever USC regional ranking after being tabbed No. 10 in the Great Lakes Region earlier this season.
"There's a lot to celebrate this year with the team's first all-region honors and the initial USC regional ranking earlier. It's awesome to see how the dedication and hard work the players have put in is paying off. Their commitment to each other and to relentlessly improve each year has been amazing."
