Dornbusch Receives United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region Honors
Anderson University women's soccer standout Bailey Dornbusch received United Soccer Coaches (USC) third-team scholar all-East Region honors, which was announced by the USC on Monday.
Anderson University women's soccer standout Bailey Dornbusch received United Soccer Coaches (USC) third-team scholar all-East Region honors, which was announced by the USC on Monday.
Scholar all-region student-athletes are recognized for excellent performance on the field and in the classroom.
Dornbusch started all 17 games on a defensive line, which recorded a 0.607 goals against average. Anderson's goals against average leads the conference and ranks 31st in the nation. The Ravens also tied the school record with eight shutouts on the season. Anderson ranks second in the conference in shutout percentage (0.471).
Dornbusch was selected to the USC All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, becoming the first player in program history to be named to an all-region team. She was also tabbed with first-team Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors.
Dornbusch is a senior from Troy, Ohio who is currently pursuing a Nursing major. She currently holds a 3.82 GPA.
"Our program really emphasizes being a student-athlete and being excellent in all areas of life," Coach Jennifer Myhre said. "It's great to have Bailey's hard work and dedication be recognized. This also reflects the commitment of the team and how they help each other prepare, academically. We truly appreciate the Nursing department and their willingness to work with our student-athletes, as well, to allow them to pursue their passion in the classroom and on the field."
