Staley Tabbed HCAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

Anderson University football standout Montravion Staley was tabbed as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.

The Ravens (1-9, 1-6) reclaimed The Bronze Ball by taking down Manchester University (1-9, 0-7) during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at Macholtz Stadium.

Staley picked off three passes, becoming the 11th Raven in program history to intercept three passes in a game. The senior defensive back from Fort Wayne also created the deflection that resulted in a pick 6. Staley also had another pass breakup on the day.

On special teams, Staley blocked Manchester's 42-yard field-goal attempt in the first quarter.
