Bio

Chad Montgomery was named the Anderson University Football Defensive Coordinator in January 2023. He enters the 2023-24 season in his first full year.

During Montgomery's first season, the Ravens recorded two second-team all-HCAC selections and three total all-conference selections on defense.

Montgomery spent the last five years as the head coach of Knightstown High School in Knightstown. He has been either an offensive or defensive coordinator in high school football in either the Memphis, Tenn. area or Central Indiana area since 1994.

Montgomery was a defensive captain and two-time all-conference defensive back with Anderson University. He was a member of the Hall of Fame 1993 Football Team, which recorded the only undefeated season in program history.

Every team Montgomery has coached had a losing record before his arrival and within two years he has helped lead that team to consistent winning seasons. He has coached several All-State players at multiple positions at each of his previous coaching stops.

Montgomery graduated from Anderson in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine. He served as an athletic trainer at two Central Indiana high schools until 2001. Montgomery was also a part-time trainer with the Chicago Bears during training camps in the early 90’s.
