Nation received conference athlete of the week for the fifth time in his career and for the fourth time this season.
The Ravens (12-2, 2-0) battled to a 3-0 record last week. Anderson fought past Transylvania University (2-11, 0-3) with a 5-3 victory during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at the Community Sport and Wellness Center in Pendleton. Anderson then took two victories on Sunday in Jacksonville, Ill. The Ravens coasted past Illinois College (0-12) by a score of 9-0 and they topped the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) (6-8) by a score of 5-3.
Nation went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles last week. On Saturday, Nation teamed up with Peter Hallam to secure an 8-4 victory against Transylvania's Jared Wells/Ty Crabtree at No. 2 doubles. He then grinded out a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Nation/Hallam rolled to an 8-1 win against Illinois College's Derek Wilkinson/Jack Leardini at No. 2 doubles. He then cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Leardini at No. 2 singles.
Nation/Hallam put together an 8-4 victory against UHSP's Alvaro Montijano/James Bamberger at No. 2 doubles. He then secured a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 victory against UHSP's Gavin Brown at No. 3 singles. Nation went 3-0 at No. 2 doubles along with finishing 1-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 singles for the week.
The Ravens clash with Hanover College (6-7, 2-1) in HCAC action on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Hanover.
