Anderson Takes Down Hanover with Historic Win on Senior Day
The Anderson University men’s team (12-8, 4-2) captured a historic win by taking down Hanover College (6-8, 3-3) by a score of 6-2 during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at the Community Sport & Wellness Center in Pendleton.
The Anderson University men's team (12-8, 4-2) captured a historic win by taking down Hanover College (6-8, 3-3) by a score of 6-2 during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at the Community Sport & Wellness Center in Pendleton.
Anderson secured the program's first win against Hanover since March 29, 2014. With the victory, the Ravens locked up the No. 3 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
Prior to the contest, Anderson recognized Cory Evans for Senior Day.
COACH SCOTT GREVE'S COMMENTS
- Both teams continue to take the necessary steps to see success. [Saturday] was a great example of that. Hanover is a very good team; they are well coached and perennially a top program in the HCAC. The goal was to make our Senior Day special for our captains and the Ravens did exactly that.
- The men have not beaten Hanover since 2014. They did a great job. Everyone played well it was great to see "super senior" Cory Evans get the 'W' in his singles match.
- We haven't played our best tennis yet, but we are definitely moving in the right direction at the right time of the season.
