Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (6-7, 1-0) fended off the Anderson University men's tennis team (5-5, 1-1) with a 6-3 win during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Terre Haute.

COACH SCOTT FOSLER'S COMMENTS
Although not a win, [Saturday] was another step forward for AU Men's Tennis. The efforts to come back from multiple breaks down to win No. 1 Doubles and No. 2 Doubles were incredible. This put us up 2-1 and gave us a great chance to win against the defending conference champion. A position we have not seen in the past. The efforts were good across the board in singles, but maybe we lost a little edge after emotional doubles matches. I think there are routes for us to win in the future, but it will take our very best efforts physically, tactically and mentally in singles. Overall, it was a good day, but in the end, every Rose has its thorn.
