The Anderson University volleyball team opened the season by splitting the first two matches of the Illinois College Tournament on Friday in Jacksonville, Ill.
The Ravens (1-1) battled past Blackburn College (0-2) by a score of 23-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-21. Anderson then fell to Concordia University Chicago (1-1) by a score of 25-18, 25-21, 25-11.
COACH TAMI MILLER'S COMMENTS
- After a slow start against Blackburn, we were able to pull out a win. We played with a lot of young athletes on the court, so meshing as a team will come with time.
- The second match with Concordia Chicago, we were unable to put together a string of solid plays to get ahead of them. It was a tough match both physically and mentally.
