Anderson University volleyball senior Emily Benefiel (Frankton, Ind./Frankton) racked up four service aces against Grinnell College during Anderson's first match in the Illinois College Invitational on Friday at Jacksonville, Ill.

Grinnell College (2-0) rallied past Anderson (0-2) in five sets with a 23-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-13, 15-6 victory during the first match. Culver-Stockton College topped Anderson 25-25, 25-23, 25-19 during the nightcap.

Olivia Rice (Walkerton, Ind./John Glenn) smashed 16 kills and put together a .300 attack percentage to lead the Ravens. Felicity Bontrager (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) totaled eight kills and Kaycie Gates (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) provided 27 assists. Ashlyn Transier (Swayzee, Ind./Oak Hill) produced six blocks, Bontrager notched five blocks and Rice added three blocks. Brooke Troyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) scattered 19 digs and Rice collected 11 digs. The Ravens turned in a .094 hitting percentage for the match.

Rice contributed eight kills, Bontrager delivered six kills and Transier tallied five kills. Gates dished out 25 assists. Troyer scattered 19 digs, Benefiel collected 11 digs and Rice recorded 10 digs. Anderson completed the match with a .048 attack percentage.

The Ravens are scheduled for two matches on Saturday to close out the Illinois College Invitational. Anderson goes head to head with Knox College (0-2) at 1 p.m. The Ravens then take on Illinois College (1-0) at 3 p.m.
