Ravens Take Down Britons in Four Sets

"This was a good start for us picking up a win against a strong MIAA team," Coach Tami Miller said. "Felicity Bontrager was amazing in the middle and Shaylen Perry played exceptionally well. Tess Perdue was great on the outside and those three carried our offense. The backcourt was led by solid defense from Brooke Troyer and Ally Hall. Erin Roach came in during the fourth set and made a huge impact. This was all in all a great win for us!"
Tess Perdue (Lexington, Ky.) led the Ravens with 14 kills. Felicity Bontrager (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) smashed nine kills and Jimena Montano (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) recorded seven kills. Shaylen Perry (Eaton, Ohio) tallied five kills. Brooke Troyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) scattered 17 digs and Ally Hall (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) collected eight digs. Kaycie Gates (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Kate Todd (Festus, Mo./Festus) dished out 22 assists and 15 assists, respectively.
The Ravens (1-0) posted a .230 attack percentage and the Britons (0-1) recorded a .162 hitting percentage.
Anderson debuted its student section The Conspiracy during Wednesday's volleyball match and also led the National Anthem prior to the game.

The Ravens are slated for a doubleheader in Greencastle on Saturday. Anderson takes on DePauw University (1-0) on the road at 11 a.m. The Ravens then clash with Defiance College (0-1) in a neutral match at 1 p.m.
