Anderson University volleyball standout Ashlyn Transier has been tabbed Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Offensive Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
The Ravens (8-7, 0-1) received their first HCAC Offensive Player of the Week since the HCAC offered separate offensive and defensive player-of-the-week awards beginning in 2012.
Wilmington College (7-12) edged Anderson 19-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 15-13 in last Wednesday's non-conference matchup Wilmington, Ohio. Franklin College (7-9, 1-0) then secured a 23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-22 win against the Ravens during Saturday's HCAC matchup in Franklin.
On the week, Transier racked up 3.44 kills per set and a .491 attack percentage. Transier powered to 21 kills in five sets against Wilmington as well as a .541 attack percentage. She then contributed 10 kills in four sets as well as a .409 attack percentage against Franklin. On defense, Transier recorded four blocks against Wilmington and four blocks against Franklin, finishing the week with 0.89 blocks per set.
The Ravens battle Defiance College (3-11, 0-1) in HCAC action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
