Anderson Men’s Golf Adds Cameron Bates as Assistant Coach
The Anderson University men’s golf program and head coach Dijon Knight have announced Cameron Bates as the men’s golf assistant coach.
The Anderson University men's golf program and head coach Dijon Knight have announced Cameron Bates as the men's golf assistant coach.
Bates competed in golf for Frankton High School and Grace College. Since graduated from Grace in 2019, Bates has coached at Frankton High School as well as St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School in Austin, Texas.
"I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Cameron Bates as our new assistant golf coach," head coach Dijon Knight said. "Cameron brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our team. I am confident that his passion for the game and his commitment to excellence will greatly benefit our players. I am looking forward to working closely with Cameron to continue building a program that prides itself on integrity, hard work and a relentless pursuit of success."
Bates was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana where he played four years of varsity golf at Frankton High School. He continued his golfing journey at Grace College in Warsaw. After college, he found new avenues to stay connected through coaching high school teams at Frankton and Savio in Austin, Texas. Bates has a passion for golf, impacting players, and developing the next generation.
"I am extremely excited to get started with the AU men's golf team," Cameron Bates said. "As a former collegiate golfer, I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and expertise in any way I can. This team has a lot of young talent, and I am extremely excited to watch them develop."
Bates earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree from Grace College in 2019. He is currently working on his Masters in Orthopedics.
