Lori A. Ball - 1998 Athlete

Lori Ball, who won All-American honors in volleyball and captained both volleyball and softball teams, is considered one of Anderson University's most outstanding women athletes.

By 1986 graduation, she had won four letters in both volleyball and softball. Three years later she returned to campus as Sports Information Director, instructor of Physical Education and assistant volleyball coach. From 1988-92, she was assistant Athletic Director, Sports Information Director and head volleyball and softball coach at Manchester College.

As a Raven, she was All-Conference, All-District, IAIAW All-State and NCCAA All-Tournament in volleyball. She was also on the IAIAW All-Tournament softball team and often described by the media as the "Raven sparkplug."

Her co-curricular activities on campus were numerous, including president of PEMM Club, IAHPERD state representative, Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and being a Special Olympics leader.

Ball continued her athletic leadership in post-undergraduate days, being Hoosier College Conference women's softball Coach of the Year in 1989 and 1991. She was a silver medalist in volleyball at the White River Park State Games, a freestyle district champion in the Indiana Field Archery Association and a certified umpire in the Amateur Softball Association.

Anderson University is proud to name Lori A. Ball among its second class of inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
