Susan (Berry) McVay – 2010 Athlete

Susan (Berry) McVay came to Anderson University in the fall of 1991 from Marshall, Ind., to play basketball.
 
Berry earned four letters in basketball and was a three-time All-Conference selection (1993-95), three-time Team MVP (1993-95) and a two-time Team Captain (1994-95) for the Ravens. She was also named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1995.
 
She finished with 1,151 career points, which ranks fourth on the career list. She is also in the top five in school history with a 14.2 scoring average (4th), 489 field goals made (4th) and a .466 field goal percentage (5th).
 
Off the court, Berry was involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Kappa Delta Pi and Study Buddies.
 
Berry earned her bachelor’s degree from AU in 1995 and added her Master’s of Education from Indiana Wesleyan in 1998.
 
After leaving AU, she has had coaching stops at Southmont High School, fifth, sixth and seventh grade and the elementary travel team. She is also an elementary school teacher in the South Montgomery School Corporation.
 
Berry and her husband Curtis McVay have two children: Marlowe and Conner, and reside in Crawfordsville, Ind.
 
Anderson University is proud to name Susan (Berry) McVay to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
