Dave Coolidge came to Anderson University from Highland, Ind., to play baseball for the Ravens in the fall of 1972.

Coolidge earned four letters in baseball and is the only player in school history to be named All-Conference (1973-76) all four years. He was also All-District three times as well as a two-time Team Captain and Team MVP in 1973.

He set season records for at-bats (146), runs (46), doubles (12), hits (56) and single game records for hits (5), runs (6), RBI (8) and stolen bases (5). He still holds three of the single game records in runs, stolen bases and RBI in a game.

Off the diamond, he was on the Dean’s List, in Kappa Delta Pi, Who’s Who in American Universities and a representative for the Student/Faculty Council Committee at AU.

Coolidge earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from Anderson University in 1976 and added his Master’s of Education from Indiana University in 1983.

After leaving AU, he played amateur baseball for several years with the Steel City Giants, Chicago Ahepa and Kokomo Highlanders, winning seven state championships, three Midwest Regional titles and making two National Baseball Congree appearances. Individually, he was All-State four times, All-Regional twice and an All-American once.

Upon retirement from baseball, he coached Oak Hill High School for five years, winning five conference championships and one sectional title. He coached the men’s golf team at Findlay, Ohio for seven years, winning six conference titles, three sectional championships, two regional titles and three state championship appearances. He won six Coach of the Year awards and was named the President of the Golf Coaches Association of Ohio in 2005.

As a golfer, he won the Sycamore Springs Golf Club Championship four times in five years in Arlington, Ohio.

Coolidge has been a math teacher for more than 30 years in Indiana and Ohio and currently resides in Findlay with his wife Cherie. They have two children: David and Susie.

Anderson University is proud to name Dave Coolidge to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
