David Edwards – 2011 Athlete/Coach/Meritorious Service

Edwards, who is entering for Meritorious Service, came to Anderson in the fall of 1962 from Kettering, Ohio, and has been a student-athlete, coach or media broadcaster on the campus for almost 50 years.

As a student, he earned four letters in football, two in wrestling and one in baseball before earning his bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 1967. 

As a coach, he was the head wrestling coach at AU as well as an assistant football, assistant baseball coach and assistant Athletic Director. He was twice named Hoosier Heritage Conference Coach of the Year in wrestling.

Other positions he has held at Anderson were Alumni Director, PA announcer for baseball, basketball and football games and for the last eight years the radio/internet voice for various Raven athletic events.

Edwards and his wife still reside in Anderson and have two children: Tye and Natalie.

Anderson University is proud to named Dave Edwards to its Athletic Hall of Fame.
