Donna Fishter  – 2012 Athlete
 
Donna Fishter came to Anderson University from Davidsonville, Md., to play soccer and softball for the Ravens in the fall of 1990.
 
Fishter was the goalie for the first varsity soccer team in 1993 and earned two letters in soccer. She holds the career record for saves per game (8.57) and ranks fifth on the career save list with 240 in just two seasons of competition. Her 151 saves in 1994 rank fourth on the season list and her 10.07 saves per game in the 1994 season ranks second in school history.
 
Fishter also earned four letters in softball and was All-Conference twice (1993-94) and the ICAC Most Valuable Player in 1994.   She has a career batting average of .369 with 35 doubles, nine triples, 15 home runs, 119 RBI, 248 total bases, 26 stolen bases and a .974 fielding percentage. She ranks third on the career list for RBI and fifth in doubles, total bases and fielding percentage. She also ranks in the top 10 in 16 different categories in softball.
 
In addition to being a captain and Team MVP in both sports, she was also named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in 1994.
 
Fishter earned her bachelor’s degree from Anderson University in 1995 and is currently working on her master’s degree in Biblical Studies at Reformed Theological Seminary.
 
After graduation, she served as assistant soccer coach at AU from 1995-97.  After a move to Florida, she coached high school and club soccer before becoming Assistant Coach for women's soccer at University of Central Florida in 2000. For the past 12 years Fishter has helped lead UCF to NCAA Division 1, Top 25 rankings with 9 post-season appearances, 8 conference championships, and most recently in 2011 a trip to  the Elite Eight.
 
Fishter is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and is a founding partner of the John Maxwell Coaching Team (2011).  She is a covenant member of Genesis Church Orlando and serves on the guest relations team.
 
Anderson University is proud to name Donna Fishter to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
