Heigle came to Anderson from Richmond High School to play baseball for the Ravens in the fall of 1986.
 

He earned four letters in baseball and left as one of the most decorated players in Raven history. He was three-time All-American (1988-90), three-time All-District 21 (1988-90), three-time District 21 Player of the Year (1988-90), three-time All-Area Six (1988-90), two-time ICAC Player of the Year (1988-89), two-time Area Six Player of the Year (1988-89) and two-time Team MVP (1989-90). He was also a member of Team USA, where he played third base.

Heigle still holds 11 school records, including career games (218), doubles (53), RBI (219), total bases (432), complete games pitching (37), shutouts (12) and strikeouts (303). He is second on the career list in hits (249), pitching wins (37), home runs (38) and fourth in career ERA (2.16). He also ranks in the top 10 in 53 categories. He has a career average of .388 at the plate and a 37-11 record on the mound.
