Phil Kalbaugh – 2009 Athlete

Phil Kalbaugh came to Anderson in the fall of 1976 from Carmel High School to play football for the Ravens.

He earned four letters and was twice named All-Conference, All-District 21, All-American, and team MVP, all for the year 1978-1979. He was also named the NAIA District 21 Player of the Year in 1979 and was named to America's Outstanding Names and Faces in 1978-79.

He holds the university record for tackles (168) and solo tackles (91)in a season and ranks third on the career tackles list (303), fourth in solo tackles (151) and assist tackles (152), despite the fact defensive stats weren't kept before 1978.

After leaving Anderson, Kalbaugh was in the business world as a sales manager for 26 years and is currently the CEO at Galaxy Confections and Holdings. In addition, he has also bred and showed American Quarter Horses and American Paint Horses and is a member of both associations.

He lives with his wife, Leeanne, and their son, Broderick, in Greenfield.

Anderson is pround to name Phil Kalbaugh to its Athletic Hall of Fame.
