Terry Murawski - 2001 Athlete

After four record-breaking seasons at Anderson University, Terry Murawski became the first Raven gridder to sign a professional contract after graduation.

When he became a Miami Dolphin in 1970, Murawski held every Anderson passing record, many of which stood for several years. Among his other football highlights were team MVP (1969), All-Conference (1969), twice All-District and All-American (1967, 1969) and the Outstanding Senior Athlete in 1970. He also ranked second in the nation in passing and total offense in 1967. Murawski also earned three letters in baseball to go with his four in football.

In addition to Miami, Murawski also had professional football stops in Washington D.C. (NFL), and Madison, Wisc. (Central States Football League). He was All-League at Madison and set several team and league passing records.

Murawski is a member of the Wabash Valley Hall of Fame in his hometown of Terre Haute and was named to Anderson University’s 1960s All-Decade Team in 1997.

He coached football for one season at Anderson and was also a coach at Rose-Hulman before going to the University of Wisconsin in 1979 as a football administrative assistant. He was the Director of the National “W” Club of the University of Wisconsin for more than 20 years.

Anderson University is proud to name Terry Murawski to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
