Juanita Wollert Reinhardt- 1998 Athlete

Golf became a post-college interest for Juanita Wollert Reinhardt and now the 1960 Anderson University graduate is considered among the top women golfers on the West Coast.

Entering Anderson on graduation from Lamar Junior College, Colo., Reinhardt was an outstanding basketball player, winning two letters while also taking part in Raven softball, volleyball and track programs. A forward, she was tabbed Most Valuable Player in her junior year.

Reinhardt has been a golf instructor at Gold Creek Athletic Club in Woodinville, Wash. A veteran in the field, previous assignments in Washington over the last 30 years have been with Overlake Country Club and Bear Creek Country Club.

After leaving campus, she taught physical education for a year at Pendleton High School and two years at Vikan Junior High in Brighton, Colo. She was invited by Anderson’s sister college, Warner Pacific in Portland, Ore., to join its faculty in 1965 and later chaired the department of physical education until 1974.

Reinhardt then entered competition in the U.S. Public Links Golf Tournament, playing all over the country. She also competed in major tournaments on the West Coast, including the South Oregon Amateur, which she won. She admits her golfing interest stems from Warner Pacific’s desire that she teach the sport.

She and husband Larry are proud of son Jeremy, who is an athletic trainer with the Montreal Expos Gulf Coast League team.

Anderson University is proud to name Juanita Violet Reinhardt among its second class of inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame.
