Doug Geoffery Stoll – 2003 Athlete

Doug Stoll becomes the first primary wrestler to be inducted into the Anderson University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Stoll came to AU from Elkhart High School in the fall of 1973 and earned four letters in wrestling before earning his bachelor’s degree in Education in 1977. He was a two-time captain and team Most Valuable Player as well as a two-time All-American. He finished fifth in the nation in 1976 and second in 1977 at the NAIA national meet.

Stoll had a career record of 90-15 while at AU and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler in the conference in both 1976-77. He was also named Outstanding Senior Male Athlete in 1977 at AU. He was inducted into the Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1989.

After college, Stoll moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., to teach and coach wrestling. He was an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Moore High School, coaching 20 state champions and two national champions. He was the head coach at Moore for five years, leading them to a fifth place finish at the state meet in 1989. He is currently the head Junior High wrestling coach in Moore, where the team won the state championship in 1997 and he was named Coach of the Year.

Stoll and his wife Dana have a son (Andre) and daughter (April) as well as a stepson (Bruce).

Anderson University is proud to name Doug Geoffery Stoll to its Athletic Hall of Fame.
