The Anderson University volleyball team fell to Indiana University Northwest before posting a sweep against Governors State University during the Manchester Invitational on Friday at North Manchester.

Indiana Northwest (5-3) put together a 25-16, 25-20, 25-22 victory against the Ravens (5-10) to start the day. Anderson then took down Governors State (3-14) with a 25-21, 25-19, 27-25 win.

Taylor Lawson (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) provided seven kills and zero attack errors, finishing with a .368 hitting percentage. The senior from New Palestine also collected eight digs. Jimena Montano (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) recorded seven kills and Emily Hale (Daleville, Ind./Wes-Del) contributed six kills. Kaycie Gates (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) dished out 15 assists and Brooke Troyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) scattered eight digs. Felicity Bontrager (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield), Hale, Gates and Montano each recorded three blocks for the Ravens.

Ashlyn Transier (Swayzee, Ind./Oak Hill) racked up a .455 attack percentage with a team-high seven kills. Gates and Alexis Sorrell (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian) provided 13 assists apiece. Olivia Rice (Walkerton, Ind./John Glenn) out together six kills, three blocks and a .429 attack percentage. Troyer notched 13 digs. Montano and Bontrager added five kills apiece. Bontrager turned in a .714 hitting percentage with five kills, zero attacks and seven attacks.

UP NEXT
Anderson is slated for two exhibition matches on Saturday during the Manchester Invitational. The Ravens go head-to-head with Terra State Community College at 11 a.m. and Ancilla College at 3 p.m. Anderson returns home to host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (4-8) next Wednesday at 7 p.m. at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
