Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (2-1, 2-1) claimed a 25-18, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17 victory against the Anderson University volleyball team (1-4, 0-3) during Tuesday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
"We have found ourselves in a similar fight once again," Coach Tami Miller said. "We see in our team all of the tools to be successful but consistency is not on our side. We had solid play from players like Shaylen Perry and Ashlyn Transier, but we can't seem to get enough runs together to get the job done."
Shaylen Perry (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) led the Ravens with 13 kills. Felicity Bontrager (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) racked up 20 digs and Brooke Troyer (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) collected 14 digs. Kate Todd (Festus, Mo./Festus) and Kaycie Gates (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) dished out 23 assists and 16 assists, respectively. Ashlyn Transier (Cicero, Ind./Oak Hill) notched seven kills, Tess Perdue (Lexington, Ky./West Jessamine) produced eight kills, Jimena Montano (Algonquin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) contributed eight kills and Sydney McClain (Urbana, Ohio/Emmanuel Christian Academy) tallied six kills.
"We will continue to work on our unforced errors and becoming better students of the game."
