The Lions (15-4, 3-0), which are receiving votes in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA D-III poll, started out down 5-1 and 8-3 in the first set. Mount St. Joseph first tied the Ravens (9-8, 1-2) at 12 apiece. The Ravens held a 22-19 lead, but the Lions rallied back and claimed a 27-25 set win. Mount St. Joseph took the next two sets 25-15 and 25-16.
"[Saturday], we showed that we can play at a high level," Coach Tami Miller said. "We played better defense, but our unforced errors continue to haunt us."
Anderson notched 10 service aces, contributing to its average of 2.32 service aces per set, which ranked third in the conference. Kate Todd leads the conference with 0.70 service aces per set while Erin Roach ranks third in the HCAC with 0.55 service aces per set.
"The bright spot of the match was our aggressiveness at the service line."
