Chapman Shoots Historic Score, Anderson Earns Eighth in Beaver Fall Classic

Anderson compiled a 36-hole team score of 857. The Ravens turned in team scores of 423 in Day 1 and 434 in Day 2.
Lauren Chapman (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian School) tied for 15th with a score of 183. The junior from Carmel carded rounds of 92 and 91 on the par-72 layout at Bluffton Golf Club. Chapman shot a two-day relative-to-par score of +39, which marks the program's lowest two-day relative-to-par score since 2015 graduate Krista Zurcher fired a +23 during the 2014 Hanover Invitational.
"I am so proud of this group," Coach Morgan Douglass said. "I am looking forward to seeing their growth as we head into conference."
Taylor Gillum (Daleville, Ind./Daleville) claimed 37th with a score of 208 after providing rounds of 101 and 107. Emma Howe (Alexandria, Ind./Alexandria-Monroe) took 40th with a score of 225 after shooting rounds of 112 and 113. The freshman from Alexandria fired a personal-best two-day relative-to-par score of +81. Lauren Benton (Frankton, Ind./Frankton) secured 44th with a score of 241 after carding rounds of 118 and 123.
Ohio Northern University captured first in the team standings with a team score of 639. Cleary University and Lourdes University tied for second with team scores of 713. The Bluffton University 'A' team came in fourth with a score of 714, finishing ahead of Manchester University (744), Defiance College (751), the Bluffton University 'B' team (810) and Anderson (857), which rounded out the team standings.
The Ravens return to action in the three-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which is set to begin on Oct. 8 at The Legends Golf Club in Franklin.
