Three Ravens Garner First-Team All-HCAC Honors
Anderson University women’s tennis standouts Madelyn Brown (Sellersburg, Ind./Christian Academy of Indiana), Anna Creech (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) and Megan Long (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) each garnered first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors, which was announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Anderson University women's tennis standouts Madelyn Brown (Sellersburg, Ind./Christian Academy of Indiana), Anna Creech (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) and Megan Long (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) each garnered first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors, which was announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Creech earned her second all-conference selection after receiving all-HCAC Honorable Mention last season. Brown and Long secured all-conference recognition for the first time in their careers. Creech, Brown and Long have also each received an HCAC Player-of-the-Week selection this season.
"I want to share our pride in having three women named to the All-Conference First Team," Coach Matt Moore said. "Anna, Megan and Madelyn showed great leadership and elevated our team to a new level. Megan was also a finalist for Newcomer of the Year. She went undefeated in conference singles and doubles."
Creech primarily competed at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. The junior from Richmond put together a 3-2 singles record and a 2-3 doubles record in HCAC play. Creech provided a 7-5 singles record and a 5-8 doubles record for the season.
Brown primarily fielded the No. 3 singles slot and No. 2 doubles slot. The sophomore from Sellersburg turned in a 4-1 singles record and a 2-3 doubles record in HCAC action. Brown went 7-5 at singles and 4-8 at doubles on the season.
Long primarily competed at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles. The freshman from New Palestine posted a 5-0 singles record and a 5-0 doubles record in HCAC play. Long compiled a 10-3 singles record and a 6-6 doubles record for the season.
