Ravens Charge Past Yellow Jackets
The Anderson University football team charged past Defiance College with a 56-29 victory during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) contest at Macholtz Stadium.

Anderson (3-1, 1-0) is off to its first 3-1 start since 2005.

Tyson Harley (New Palestine, Ind./Mount Vernon) racked up 409 passing yards and five passing touchdowns, which included a long of a 62-yard touchdown to Phenol Williams (Miami Shores, Fla./Miami Carol City). Williams caught for 127 yards and a touchdown. Zac Tallent (Lakeland, Fla./George Jenkins) notched 11 receptions as well as 109 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. The sophomore wide receiver from Lakeland, Fla. hauled in touchdown receptions of six yards and 26 yards.

Reggie Lipscomb (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown of three yards. Johnell Wortham (St. Rose, La./Destrehan) recorded 65 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The senior from St. Rose, La. put up rushing touchdowns of two yards and 34 yards. Elijah Crowe (Robinson, Ill./Logansport) finished with 82 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown reception. James Tucker (Brookville, Ind./Franklin County) also put together a 44-yard touchdown reception.

Tyrekis Cushingberry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) recorded seven tackles for the Ravens. Callan Shockey (Indianapolis, Ind.`/Franklin Central) tallied six tackles including 1.5 sacks. Montravion Staley (Fort Wayne, Ind./Eastside) and Hayden Lee (Cedarville, Ohio/Cedarville) both picked off passes. Trent Williams (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) forced a fumble while Trevon McCall (Riverdale, Ga./Morrow) and Nic Bontrager (Nappanee, Ind./NorthWood) both recovered fumbles on the day. Xavier Gee (Marion, Ind./Marion) and Brandon Goodman (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) both posted sacks while Andrew Coleman (Indianapolis, Ind./Covenant Christian) closed out with one-half of a sack. Christian Myers (Newport, Ind./North Vermillion) tallied two quarterback hurries while Gee and Goodman added two quarterback hurries apiece.
